About Me.

I am an avid drum teacher, performer, content creator and studio session drummer from Nice, France.

I picked up the drums at the age of 9. At the age of 11 I started gigging alongside my father in his function band playing Rock, Blues, and Pop. By the age of 14, I was playing in my school’s big band performing Reggae, Blues, Latin, Jazz, Soul and Fusion along with Pop/ Rock in an original compositions band. With various music genres becoming a centre point in my life, I quickly developed a versatile and mature playing style. Throughout high school I was playing and writing music with my band 20 Cent Dreams. This outlet enabled me to gain experience in stage performance, studio recording and music writing from an early age. As my band progressed and started playing increasingly bigger shows, this inspired me to become a professional musician.

I moved to the UK with my band to pursue my thirst for music and began studies at The London College of Creative Media. After three years of honing my craft, I graduated in 2017 with first class honours and started teaching shortly after. Since then I have been involved in numerous music projects and have set up my own drum school - LH Drums.

Testimonials

Anne-Marie Nugent

Liam has been teaching my son drumming for over a year, his teaching technique is both fun and technically excellent.  He is a very good teacher making it fun for my son to learn new sequences, but also very on point in explaining how to play the drums correctly.

When issuing homework, explains clearly his expectation for what he expects from the piece of work given and that it needs to be practised correctly

He has a very good ear and can tell if my son has not practised the way he should.

Liam is every engaging and encourages the best from his pupils.

My son loves being taught by Liam and has gain his level two distinction whist under Liam's teaching, and is pressing for the level three.  I would highly recommend him to anyone that wishes to learn drums

Liam has been an excellent teacher, quick to build a rapport with our son, always pushing him forward but also keeping things fun. His flexible approach has encouraged our son to keep progressing, basing the lessons on the music he loves.

From the get-go, my 11-year old son has always thoroughly enjoyed being taught by Liam.

Liam ticks all the boxes from the parental point of view: he is professional - punctual and organised, without being stuffy. In his teaching is always engaging, never patronising and adept at finding new ways to keep my son motivated to improve his drumming skills.

Liam makes the lessons really fun and enjoyable. He’s a fantastic drummer and explains things very clearly. He’s never in a bad mood and always manages to make me laugh!

Robert Pratt (Student)

Liam is a really good bloke. He always goes out of his way for you, he's patient, he's very generous with his time and shows a real interest in why you want to be a drummer and what you're into. He's an incredible drummer and enjoys getting into the details of technique on the practice pad as well as jamming out ideas for fills and grooves on the kit. I always feel that he is trying to tailor everything towards the sounds I am interested in and ultimately, I have full confidence in him, I know he'll help me be the drummer I want to be.
